Torn From Earth (Self)
Crank this to 8.5 of 11
Released: 2021
Genre: Post-metal
Sounds Like: ISIS, Drude, Cult of Luna
Homeland: Hungary

Album Overview
Post-metal trio from Hungary return with a massive sonic bombardment of heavy and bruising apocalyptic metal
The scathing vocals have a sense of desperation. Think Crowbar meets Cult of Luna with a bit of ZAO for that hardcore feel
Self comes close to being an all out doom/sludge affair, yet they throw in these elements of spacious percussion and guitars. Creating a vey layered Post-metal sound
Tracks like "Morph" bring in touches of hardcore, which makes this album so fucking entertaining, they don't stick to one heavy formula
Fans who love Post-metal will easily gravitate to Self. This album is highly underrated within the genre

Standout Track(s):
Kings
This song pulls you into their Post-metal world from the start. The song has a very slight hardcore influence at times. And the dual vocals are insanely unrelenting and work very well together.
Brew Pairing
Saber Tooth Tiger by Rhinegeist Brewery in Ohio. This 8.5% IPA hits with notes of papaya, mango and peach yet finishes with a crisp clean citrus bitterness.
