Thrown Iron (Adventure One)

Turn this to 4.7 of 11

Released: 2020

Genre: Heavy Metal, Power Metal

Sounds Like: Manowar, Gamma Ray

Hailing from Bloomington, Indiana, foursome heavy metal act Thrown Iron bring the hammer down with fantasy-driven, unfiltered metal on this one. Their D&D and beer guzzling NWOBHM inspiration pays homage to acts like Manowar to Gamma Ray. Now, we are no D&D experts by any means, but there are breaks of what sounds like spoken word D&D game playing with the sound of dice being thrown. Adventure One is fun for a moment or two and does provide some satisfying shredding, but does not hold our interest. If you’re looking for some up and coming heavy metal with tales of fantasy definitely give these guys a listen.

Standout Track:

“Dark Shrine of Ritual” offers some inspiring classic galloping moments and is a bit dark at times. Our favorite of the bunch.
