Skeleton (Ordainment Of Divinity)

Crank this to 7.7 of 11

Released: 2021

Genre: Black Metal

Sounds Like: Immortal, Mayhem, Burzum

Homeland: Texas

Track Overview:

1. Opening Rites (2:48)

A great title to this droning opener that sounds like some sort of medieval occult marching ritual.

2. I (1:37)

Out of nowhere we are pummeled with unfiltered and raw to the bone blackened death metal. This song does offer some killer rhythms if you stick around.

3. II (2:31)

Another blackened track with muffled death-like vocals.

4. III (1:25)

A short punishing ditty that will make your ears bleed.

5. IV (3:59)

What else would you expect, its more insane black metal. This one closes out with about a minute of war sound effects, a fitting end.

Album Nuggets

  • The production is so over the top with distortion, yet it works. There is something alluring about this album

  • We love that this is a short EP, a full length may be over bearing

  • The vocals are perfectly nested into the mayhem, they are brutal yet don't take full control of the album

  • There are some rather interesting hardcore elements to this album

Brew Pairing

We recommend something strong to cope with the blackened onslaught. Go with Primordial Unity by Cigar City Brewing in Florida. This whopping 14.3% Stout is a great companion with Skeleton.
