Sevan - (Guide Me Holy Ararat)
Crank this to 7.2 of 11
Released: 2021
Genre: Post Metal, Sludge
Sounds Like: The Rollins Band, Old Man Gloom
Homeland: Rhode Island, USA

Track Overview:
1. Bleeding Crescent (6:49)
Great variety within this track, cascading guitar-work, angst and post-punk appeal.
2. Desert Walk (7:58) Standout Track
This track contains by far the most contrast. Impressive how well they bring it down.
3. Eetch (8:42)
Shades of Baroness and Black Tusk on this track.
4. Goddess (11:13)
Lyrically a bit repetitive for such a long track, vocals wear on listener here.
5. Kef (8:05)
Best fretwork of the album hits at the 6:55 mark. What a terrific ending to this song.
Album Nuggets
Luke's vocals can be grinding to the listener when engaging in a full listen. Sludge fans will have no issue with this.
Nice production overall and we were impressed with the band's relatively involved song-structure.
Luke's guitar-work is impressive. Again in particular check-out the last 2 minutes of 'Kef'.
Brew Pairing
Grey Sail Brewing has a wonderful double IPA that matches Sevan's aggression. 8.5%ABV brewed in Rhode Island. Chinook, Citra, and Mosaic hops. Juicy with minimal bitterness, a massive amount of hops, but smooth.
Sevan are:
Luke Chobanian - Guitars/Vocals
Colin McGandy - Bass/Power Electronics
Sean Thomas - Drums
