Errant (ST)

Crank this to 9.1 of 11 - Editors' Pick

Released: 2020

Genre: Black Metal

Sounds Like: Immortal Bird, Blood Incantation

Now this is the way to package an EP. Hit us at a variety of angles inclusive of album art beauty and an amazing closer covering one of our favorite bands.Welcome the self-titled EP from Errant, a solo project delivered by the ever so talented Rae Amitay. The multi-instrumentalist from Immortal Bird fame paints a vibrant new vision. The black metal backbone gives rise to some very impressive soothing guitar melodies. Impressive contrast with a beautiful approach to build-ups.

While we have good ears for music, we are always amazed by these artists that can wield each instrument so impressively. The Chicago talent shines dark beauty throughout the 16 minute foray and has only heightened our need to revisit Immortal Bird within a new perspective.

Track Listing:

1. The Amorphic Burden (4:20)

2. A Vacillant Breath (5:12)

3. Oneirodvnia (2:50)

4. Saturday Saviour (4:15)

Standout Track:

"The Amorphic Burden" is a phenomenal opener providing an onslaught of emotion and talent. Most off, we are so impressed with the intricate guitar melodies that shine throughout this track. Rae’s vocal talents are obvious with her ability to dive deep into darkness and then lift our heads to the heavens with a softness so contradictory.

Adult Beverage Pairing:

Evanston Illinois based Temperance Beer Co and their impressive English IPA Gatecrasher blends so well with Errant. Smoothed peach driven hops at 6.6% ABV will delight your palate.
