Burning Sister (ST)
Crank this to 8.1 of 11
Released: 2020
Genre: Stoner Rock
Sounds Like: Fu Manchu, Dead Meadow

Burning Sister from Colorado play a very stoned sounding and low-toned variation of stoner rock. If you love the early work for Fu Manchu, but with a bit less movement, this is right up your alley. Now, there is nothing groundbreaking about this album, yet it has a nice flow and will suck you in with their homegrown fuzz and laid back vocals.
For a debut album, Burning Sister show some patience and hit us with some nice mid tempo groove that will have your foot tapping. From the start of "Path Destroyer" right through to the last cut "Oblivinaut," Burning Sister do not waiver much at all from this hazy fuzz rock. It's a nice atoner album that will sit will in your heavy collection.
Track Listing:
1. Path Destroyer 06:28
2. Lord of Nothing 04:39
3. Maelstrom 04:26
4. Burning Sister 06:26
5. Oblivinaut 06:11
Standout Track:
The instrumental "Maelstrom" that is right in the middle of the album has terrific flow and is easy to get lost in.
Adult Beverage Pairing:
Check out Baby Kittens IPA by Connecticut based Fat Orange Cat Brewing. This 6.5% IPA has flavors of passionfruit, citrus and peaches, yet not to sweet. A nice companion to Burning Sister.
